What we collect to build a page

Before you have ever heard from us, we collect your business's name, its phone number, its Google place ID, and facts and photographs from its own website and its own listing. Nothing else, and nothing from a source that is not your business's own. Every photograph has its location data stripped before it is used on a page — profile photos often carry the address they were taken at.

If you ask us to build yours

Show me mine asks for your business's name, its town, its phone number, your email address and, if you want, your current website, and it notes which site sent you to us (its name, never the page). We use it to build your page and to send you the one email with the link, and for nothing else. Putting that phone number on the do-not-contact list below deletes the request.

The do-not-contact list

If you tell us to stop, we collect a phone number and, if you choose to give one, a note. That number goes on a permanent list that is checked before any business is scanned, built or sent to, in every city and every trade. Nothing about it is verified — no confirmation, no proof of ownership — which means it can only ever stop us contacting someone, never confirm who they are.

If you claim a site

Claiming a page asks for an email address, which we keep as the contact on your account. Payment is handled by Stripe on its own checkout page — we never see your card number, and no card detail passes through us at any point.

Cookies

Exactly one cookie exists anywhere in this product. Opening the link we sent you sets an HttpOnly cookie on mysitesux.dev, scoped to that one page's path, that proves you are the person who followed the link. It lasts seven days. There are no analytics and no tracking scripts on this site or on mysitesux.dev.

How long we keep things

A page nobody claims is deleted, in full, 60 days after it is published. Pressing "delete it forever" on a page does the same thing immediately: the page, its photographs and its data are removed, and a permanent do-not-contact entry is recorded for that business. Being on the do-not-contact list is permanent by design — there is no expiry and no way to undo it, because that is what "forever" has to mean.
